BACKGROUND

MACAAs commitment to transforming the dynamism and specialness of African millennials into a positive source of energy that contributes to the development of their communities, country and region, has lumbered the organization with the obligation to bring into existence a concrete award that will celebrate young, effervescent, exceptional and outstanding personnel that has shown extraordinary zeal to the growth of the nation. In regard to the aforementioned, this proposal serves as a pitch for the citizens award program.

AWARD OVERVIEW

As one of the numerous ways of appreciating altruistic individual in the society, an award show represents a boulevard, where people are acknowledged and distinguished for their outstanding deeds over a period of time. In time past, such program has existed and several individual have benefited from it with a plaque bearing the standout achievement that has warranted them for such honor.

OBJECTIVES AND MISSION

The main objective of the award program is to celebrate breakout individual in the society. Furthermore, the following objectives are also outlined;
To celebrate outstanding individual in the society.
To have a credible and formidable award show that will be of international standard.
To have a close relationship with people of impact so as to develop and impact the society positively.
To put the organization in pole position to remain the hub for credibility, accountability and a machinery that will seek for better governance.

CATEGORY 1: Prize In Acting

This award is given to a individuals or groups in the entertainment industry who has recorded remarkable achievement in acting, and other fields of entertainment.

CATEGORY 2: Prize In Fashion

This award is given to a young person who has demonstrated measurable achievement in the field of fashion and style.

CATEGORY 3: Prize In Music

This award is given to outstanding individuals or groups in the entertainment industry who has recorded remarkable achievement in music.

CATEGORY 4: Prize for Professional Service

This award is given to a professional or a technocrat who has made an outstanding contribution in the private sector.

CATEGORY 5: Prize In Business

This award is given to an entrepreneur who has demonstrated extraordinary vision, leadership, and commitment to running a business enterprise, and recorded measurable business success in terms of growth (profit, market share, employees) and/or in terms of his or her reputation (creativity, quality, and aesthetic).

This category is given to outstanding individuals or groups who have made remarkable achievements in sports category

This award is given to individuals or groups who has recorded measurable impact in advancing education through advocacy, activism, innovation, enterprise, and, institution building.
This category is endowed by the University of Sussex.

CATEGORY 8: Prize In Technology

This award is given to a researcher, scientist, innovator, inventor who has distinguished herself or himself and achieved a measurable breakthrough in the field of science and technology within the year under review.

CATEGORY 9: Prize for New Media

This award is given to individuals or groups who is reaching new frontiers as an innovator, publisher, business owner, entrepreneur, or professional in new media within the year under review.

CATEGORY 10: Prize in Public Service

This award is given to a professional or technocrat who has made an outstanding contribution in public service within the year under review.

CATEGORY 11: Prize For Creativity

This award recognizes extraordinary achievement in the promotion and the preservation of the best of our arts and culture. This includes young creators, innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, artists, filmmakers, and cartoonists within the year under review.

CATEGORY 12: Prize In Comedy

This award is given to individuals or groups in the creative industry who has recorded remarkable achievement. This includes stand up comedy, online comedy etc. within the year under review.

CATEGORY 13: Prize For Advocacy

This award is given to individuals or groups who has demonstrated exceptional vision, passion, and commitment to a social or developmental cause and made a measurable impact on lives within the year under review.

This award is given to an entrepreneur, advocate, or professional who has demonstrated vision, leadership, and commitment and made a measurable impact in the field of agriculture, and agro-related causes and organizations within the year under review.

This award is given to individuals or groups in the photo industry who has recorded remarkable achievement ¨C arts, street, wedding, portraits, aerial, fashion photography etc. Within the year under review.

This award is given to a writer, reporter, presenter, producer, and other professionals working in the journalism profession who has demonstrated excellence in the work of telling of stories and bringing the news to the public within the year under review.

CATEGORY 17: Prize For On-Air Personality

This award is given to individuals or groups in the visual/television, audio or radio industry who has recorded remarkable achievement. All these within the year under review.

CATEGORY 18: Prize For Young Person of the Year

This prize is awarded to a young person whose work sets him or her apart as a role model, setting the pace for other young leaders on the continent. He/She must also demonstrate entrepreneurial and leadership abilities, the potential to change his or her sector, market awareness, and understanding. All these within the year under review.
